I have to confess, I am a closet carver. Pumpkins, gourds, and even zucchini are not safe around me.

Other facts you don't know:
1) I have written two books.
2) One Single Drop and The Silent One are the titles.
3) They are works of fiction, which reveal a story about eclectic friends who are walking different life pathways. Artists, musicians, yoginis, and horse whisperers provide crazy antics as well as a safety net for each other.
4) The main character is a well-published writer and has used her coinage to establish several wellness centers across the United States.
5) I introduce yoga concepts as well as a few metaphysical conceptions.
6) Exploration and growth into multi-leveled planes are included as the main character and her spiritual equal indulge in sexually charged/not-as-bad-as-it-sounds astral travel.
7) Tabs you will turn will lead you into pages which feature a wide variety of fast cars, world travel, rock tours, painting, photography, familiars, and a Vedic-wisdom touting spectre/guru who appears always in the nick of time.

What does pumpkin, gourd, and zucchini carving have to do with the two books? Not a damn thing. However, these are the eccentricities of my life. Use it how you will..

* No actual vegetables were harmed and those who have been carved have complied most willingly to commit themselves to life immortal via my photographs!
Victoriahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00953853818432538120noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2196029270503455372.post-16778493603192226172009-05-28T18:37:00.000-07:002009-05-28T18:44:25.533-07:00The Crescent Moon and I are Way Out of Hand

It was an Online Mugging! I now know the true meaning of the lyrics “Gloom, Despair, and Agony on me.” So, dig this. It’s Thursday night. I am so proud I have new followers. I whole-heartedly was determined to write a bit and tell you all about my books and the purpose of this entire blog.

Diligently, I postulated, added humor, listed past experiences, recommended great tunes, and did not use the word “great” more than once! I was plumb pleased with my efforts. For the cherry on top, I regrettably believed that if I added a lovely photo, this would complete my very first, ardently-strived-for work, aka My Blog that explains Everything..

When I clicked photo, I nuked my blog. As far as I know, it possibly may have landed on the moon. In fact, I just returned from a quiet peaceful jaunt outdoors where I noticed that crescent moon shining down on me. If you turned it sideways, it would be laughing at me.

So, friends, here’s the deal. My dog kept me up all night long barking. The moon is laughing at me, and somehow, in my attempt to entertain you, I have failed. Nothing has been explained. My blog #2 exists…you’re just gonna have to trust me cause it won’t be appearing here. More to come after I sleep.
Victoriahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00953853818432538120noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2196029270503455372.post-61675962373409432962009-05-28T17:06:00.000-07:002009-05-29T09:46:48.990-07:00How to Know God page 130

For the last two years, I have been immersed in a super-massive lifestyle change. Raised heathen/ bohemian/ make-up-your-own-mind, I spent years searching for which god is God. I got my first clue from Sister Act 2-" If you want to be somebody, if you want to go somewhere, you better wake-up and pay attention!"

Second, in college, like John Denver, I climbed Rocky Mountain High while dressed as a Living Dead Doll. I learned a lot, met some weird ass people, respected and understood the craft, but found that I longed for something higher and with less eye-liner. (I also learned how to identify different herbs and flowers and how to use them towards healing purposes.) Gardening is one of my most cherished pasttimes.

Then, like Chicken Little, out of the sky, I found my third eye. Yoga became a necessary addition to my daily life because I was Queen of Retail Hell and was shaking my groove thing in ways God never intended. Yoga helped. It helped so much, that I was drawn to kirtan (chants with music) that I had not enjoyed which had been laying around my house for a few years. (They were Mom's) Ravi Shankar and Jaya Lakshmi were the first two artists in this genre I quickly came to love.

Next, a landslide..Everything changed at once. I began to incorporate my yoga and meditation practice with more advanced reading and studies. Paramahansa Yogananda's book, Autobiography of a Yogi, removed any veil of unsurety. When I read this book, clarity was mine. I am a read-a-holic when it comes to learning more.

Evidently born a writer, I have been writing poetry, stories, and books about every topic you can imagine, since I was seven. With my new found devotion to Eastern philosophy, I just naturally gravitated towards writing fiction, which includes the topics I am currently most interested in. Some of these are yoga, meditation, chanting, as well as the importance of friendship and also recognition of world concerns such as poverty, environmentalism, and how "to be the change you want to see in the world" as Gandhi suggested.

I hope my books, which are a series of two, will introduce these concepts to those who are interested and will encourage them to seek their Inner Light. Please tell me your ideas or thoughts which you feel might draw interest in my attempts. I will be telling lots more of the premise and give you some general character descriptions. Hopefully, you will be intrigued.Victoriahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00953853818432538120noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2196029270503455372.post-8173634003339929962009-05-26T17:20:00.000-07:002009-05-26T17:41:13.387-07:00Things I KnowThere are three things I know for sure:

First) I had to write this book. No one in it is a vampire, but they could be.
Second) There is a part of me, and I'm not sure how dominant that part might be, that longs for publication. And,
Third) I am unconditionally and irrevocably lost in my own paperless world.

Thanks for your interest in my book and what I hope is its soon-to-be publication. Feel free to leave comments or suggestions and Welcome to Owl Hollow! ~VictoriaVictoriahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00953853818432538120noreply@blogger.com1
